Greenhouse Kits

Greenhouses are efficiently designed to let the sunshine in and keep the cold weather out allowing you to grow plants year-round. Have you ever dreamed of owning a greenhouse? What would you do in yours? Start flowers and vegetables from seed? Over‑winter your favorite geraniums? Make salads year‑round? Relax and enjoy a quiet hide‑away? Greenhouse are charming, easy to build, and affordable.

Mt. Hood Series

Mt. Hood greenhouse models are six feet wide with plenty of headroom at 8’4″ tall at the peak. Narrow enough to fit in a limited space, each kit is made with a clear natural redwood frame, twin wall polycarbonate and includes two vents with automatic vent openers, Dutch doors and a base made with recycled plastic. With up to four optional benches, you can optimize your space no matter what you want to grow. These kits can include pre‑assembled panels so you can easily assemble your Mt. Hood greenhouse in just a short time.

Redwood Bench Kits

Specially designed matching redwood benches are available that run the full length of your greenhouse. Benches can be 21″ deep, perfect for fitting your Mt. Hood greenhouse

Automatic Vents Simplify Climate Control

Automatic vent operators on the roof and base vents require no electricity or batteries. The vent operator will often contain a paraffin (wax) that expands when the temperature reaches about 65°F, pushing the vent open to its fully opened position at about 85°F. As it cools and the paraffin contracts, the operator’s springs draw each vent closed. It is adjustable within approximately 5°F and easily detachable for manual operation.

Mt. Rainier Series

Mt. Rainer Models is the largest greenhouse kit available and can maximize your greenhouse experience. Standing very nearly ten feet tall at the peak and eight feet wide, there is plenty of room for growing and relaxing. Each Mt. Rainier Model is made with a clear natural redwood frame, twin wall polycarbonate and includes four vents with automatic vent openers, Dutch doors and a base made with recycled plastic. Some good kits will come with pre‑assembled panels, so you can easily assemble your Mt. Rainier greenhouse in less than a day.

Lean-To Garden Houses

The lean‑to structure is designed to attach to a smooth vertical wall. (Owner is responsible for checking local building codes and for selecting flashing and fasteners appropriate for the existing wall type.) Exterior dimensions are 4′ 3′ wide by 8′ long and 7′ 3‑1/2″ high, sloping to 5′ 6‑1/2″. The lean‑to has two doors, one at each end. No automatic ventilation is built in. If additional openings are desired for ventilation, the owner may cut the shatterproof polycarbonate glazing with a fine‑toothed saw. F.O.B. Factory.

Patio Garden Houses

This is great for gardeners with limited space but that need more than a cold frame. A patio greenhouse might include 4 adjustable benches to give you flexibility and room to grow many different plants. Two doors and an automatic vent opener are included. This type of greenhouse can be easily moved and is a convenient size for use on a patio or deck. F.O.B. Factory.

The Garden-Starter Greenhouse

This versatile 4′ x 2′ x 16″ miniature greenhouse provides a superior environment for plant growth. Plant directly in the soil beneath this type of green house or grow in containers. Four standard flats fit in the 4′ x 2′ bed of this small but versatile option. The rigid, lightweight unit can be easily moved to any garden area including decks, raised beds or tables.

Mist Systems

A mist system can provide short bursts of mist to both cool (up to 20 degrees) and humidify (50%‑70% humidity is an ideal growing condition), and it’s a great supplement to ventilation, which, by itself, merely cools to the outside temperature. A mist kit can also be used for to automate the watering process, but requires larger mist nozzles. A complete misting system should include:

  • rotatable fittings
  • flexible tubing
  • brass mist nozzles
  • clamps and garden hose adapter

Although some mist system can be operated manually, we strongly recommend a cycle timer. The battery operated‑Touch‑Set™ Electronic Water Timer, one of our favorites, provides brief misting cycles for the duration and intervals you set, perfect for cooling and humidifying. Simply connect to your hose faucet.

Deluxe Drip Irrigation Package

Gardeners can semi-automate watering schedules with deluxe drip kit, or fully automate it by adding a timer. A standard drip kit will feature 2 jet misters for gentle watering of seed trays and tropical plants, plus 11 adjustable bubblers that water up to 11 large plants in containers. It should include everything you need for an easy and complete installation to your faucet, including mounting clamps, hole punch, elbows and tees. You can install this type of system in less than an hour with easy‑to‑follow instructions.

Vornado Air Circulators

Air circulators provide quiet and efficient cooling and air exchange. Vornado’s 180C, a compact air circulator that we really enjoy, and the largest and most powerful Vornado, the 750G Air Circulator, are great as continuous run primary fans or as thermostatically controlled cooling fans to supplement a circulation fan.

Run this efficient and easy‑to‑place compact clip‑on fan continuously to cool and circulate all the air in your greenhouse. The UL approved fan is finger‑safe, so it doesn’t need a conventional grill that blocks airflow, making this small fan very efficient and quiet for its size.

The model we recommend comes with power cord. Finger safe blades have 7″ diameter. 210 cubic feet per minute rating. White color.

Shutter Fans

For maximum air exchange and carbon dioxide replenishment, install a shutter fan. The versatile shutter fan can be used alone (relying on the intake of the automatic vents) or together with a shutter or motorized intake to create cross ventilation. A motorized intake shutter opens more fully and provides an effective seal against outside air when closed. With each fan or shutter, a kit might include an easy template for installing in the polycarbonate, redwood framing, foam tape and brackets, and, for the fan or motorized shutter, a pigtail power cord. Wire to a thermostat or a timer.
